Ultimate Training Series 4: Better > Bitter
We can’t choose our trials, but we can choose our responses to them. In Better > Bitter, athletes will discover how God has purpose in their pain and learn to honor God in the way they respond to hardships in both sport and life. Are you ready to see your pain and suffering as an opportunity to glorify God?
This is the fourth book of the Ultimate Training series. Each book unpacks one of the five principles from Athletes In Action®’s Ultimate Training Camp.
These principles are, simply, the gospel—applied to sport, experienced through sport, and spoken in the language of sport. These five principles are part of a unique curriculum developed by our Athletes In Action staff over the last forty-five years. They will give you a biblical framework to help you see sport as an opportunity to worship God, so you can participate in sport in a way that honors him.
Better > Bitter is aimed at helping you understand that God has purpose in your pain. Through journeying through the story of Joseph in Genesis, you will see a biblical example of what it looks like to trust that God is good when the circumstances around you suggest otherwise.
Injuries, loss of playing time, and many other hardships come with the game. We can’t choose what trials we face, but we can choose how we respond. Learn to face your hardships head on and glorify God through your pain and suffering by becoming better instead of bitter.
